This is a young garden that has been expanding annually since 2019. The site challenges include a front yard septic weeping bed restricting plantings to shallow rooted perennials and bedrock only inches below the surface on much of the lot. The aim is to plant a garden that supports caterpillars, pollinators and birds while co-existing with the local wildlife. A gazebo at the forest edge is a tranquil spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and reflect on the history of Merrickville beside an historic cedar rail fence revealed while clearing thickets of buckthorn.

This garden will feature the work of MAG Artist Julie Mercier.
